Ah, Doom...you just can't trust those gypsy witches with facial scars and vendettas. To anyone who has EVER said humans are worthless, I direct them to the one who took down the Beyonder (sort of).
Doom is a weird character because he's too powerful and intelligent a guy to be so screwed up and such a loser. When written to his full potential there is absolutely nothing he can't do. The fact that he keeps losing to a guy who calls himself Mr. Fantastic is, ultimately, pretty pathetic. Still, he's one of the most iconic villains around.
Well, he has to lose. He's the villain. What would Marvel be like if he won? No more heroes, no more stories. Likewise, the villains can't ever quit. If they give up, then there's nothing for the heroes to fight. As for Doom...he has anger problems and keeps underestimating people. His only mistakes are emotional, it seems.
